Travel to Arran
The main ferry to Arran is the crossing from Ardrossan, 30 miles west of Glasgow, to Brodick, sailing time 55 minutes. It is essential that you contact Caledonian MacBryne as soon as you book your holiday to ensure a vehicle reservation. There is also a smaller ferry from Claonaig to Lochranza that does not need booking.
The island is also supported by a good bus service.

Arran is also easily reached by air and rail . Both Prestwick and Glasgow airports have rail links to the ferry at Ardrossan and besides the national carriers, two of the budget airlines have daily flights. Rail travel would be to Glasgow Central Station and then to Ardrossan Harbour to meet the ferry. Car hire is available on the island.
